Hi there! My name is Emma, I’m 25, and currently based in Liverpool, England. I have a BA in English Literature and an MA specialising in Early Modern Literature, both from Lancaster University. I miss it, a lot.
I’m a book blogger, reader, coffee lover, unashamed fangirl, and a romantic masquerading as a cynic. I mostly read fiction, specifically young-adult fantasy, because reading is escapism for me. Occasionally I word vomit some feelings onto this blog too, sometimes they’re about careers/graduate life, sometimes they’re about self-doubt, sometimes they’re nonsensical. I apologise in advance.
Oh and I reckon people’s favourite quotes/lyrics say a lot about them, so here are a smattering of mine:
“The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt” (Sylvia Plath)
“For myself, for a long time… maybe I felt inauthentic or something, I felt like my voice wasn’t worth hearing, and I think everyone’s voice is worth hearing. So if you’ve got something to say, say it from the rooftops” (Tom Hiddleston)
“The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool” (As You Like It, William Shakespeare)
“Live my life in self-defence, you know I love the past ‘cause I hate suspense” (Diane Young, Vampire Weekend)
“I’m someone who’s mostly dead inside but still has a little hope for something extraordinary, which, as I said, is the worst breed of human, because it means I know everything is bullshit, but that I secretly hope for the day when it might not be.” (Nick Miller, New Girl)
